Gilly Stephenson’s Pine Darkener & Scratch Cover adds a dark brown hue to unsealed pale pine timbers
and other light coloured woods.
Typical Uses:
- Adds a dark brown hue to unsealed pale pine timbers.
- Colours scratch marks on pale woods.
Features:
- Water based.
- Non-toxic.
- By adding water, the colour can be lightened to achieve different shades.
Application:
1. Shake well before and during use.
2. Apply with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
3. Apply 2 to 3 coats of Restoring & New Timber Polish, buffing between each coat. The Dark Restoring & New Timber Polish Restorer will emphasise the colour of the grain. Further coats will add to the colour.
4. If using a sanding sealer use the Pine Darkener & Scratch Cover first, then rub in the sanding sealer and lastly apply the polish.
5. For a natural high sheen apply 1 to 2 coats of Cabinet Maker’s Wax over the Restoring & New Timber Polish preferably using [0000] steel wool. Buff with a soft cloth. The number of applications will depend on
the finish required.
6. Estapol can be used as a finish over the Pine Darkener & Scratch Cover if preferred.
7. Maintain with any of the above polishes.
